Anonymous: Hi team, we recently setup the slack integration. One thing we noticed that we are getting a notification for every layer override change. This is creating a lot of noise as engineers are very often overriding themselves / stable ids to test different features. We are wondering if there is a way to disable the notifications specifically for layer overrides. This is for everything experiments, FF, and dynamic configs.
tore (Statsig): There isn’t anything for layer overrides specifically, but perhaps you could filter out via the environments toggle in the “Event Filtering” options.
tore (Statsig): Let us know if those options are not sufficient - I could see why a filter on “overrides” across gates/experiments/layers could be useful to reduce noise.
Anonymous: We did toggle to the environment!! I think an option for overrides would be highly appreciated! Right now we have too many engineers doing layer/experiments/gate overrides for the notifications to be helpful / stick out!
tore (Statsig): Okay, thanks for the feedback! Was making sure you at least knew of the existing filtering options, but I agree that would be useful. I’ve added a task to our backlog to enable this.
Anonymous: Thank you!
Kenny Yi (Statsig): Hey Jackie, this is actually something we’re currently working on! We’ll update you once this feature is available!
