How can I enable user_id for effective experimentation in Statsig?

Date of slack thread: 4/15/24

Anonymous: Hey wanted to confirm my understanding on something - I’m getting started on trying to see what kinds of metrics/experiments I can get up and running, but I’m realizing that our project doesn’t seem to have user_ids enabled on our exposures via the statsig sdk. Currently I have a small ingestion set up into statsig via custom events is just an eventlog of pageclicks per user_id

It seems like to me that experimentation, which seems to require exposures on user_Id, will not be possible. Is that correct?

We evaluated Optimizely, LaunchDarkly, Split, and Eppo, but ultimately selected Statsig due to its comprehensive end-to-end integration. We wanted a complete solution rather than a partial one, including everything from the stats engine to data ingestion.
