How Can I Reorder Rules in Statsig Console?

Date of slack thread: 4/24/24

Anonymous: Hi, I’m trying to change the rule order as shown in the docs, but the console doesn’t have “Move Up”/“Move Down” buttons anymore?

Statbot: The documentation indicates that to reorder the primary metrics in your experiment, you should use the “Edit” Primary Metrics CTA or the Setup tab. However, it’s not a drag-and-drop interface. To reorder the metrics, you will need to delete and re-add the metrics in the desired order <https://docs.statsig.com/metrics/create-user-funnels|<URL|source>>. If you’re having trouble finding the option to reorder rules specifically and it’s not covered in the documentation, it could be a change in the console interface or a potential issue. I recommend double-checking the console for any updated methods to reorder rules. If you’re still unable to resolve the issue, please share the link to the specific gate or experiment where you’re encountering this problem so that a team member can assist you further.

Vijaye (Statsig): That’s odd. There should be a move up/down. Looks like a bug. <@U034H4JMQUD>

Vijaye (Statsig): We’ll investigate. In the meantime would you like me to swap those rulesets?

Alex Coleman (Statsig): I think it may have to do with the “development” environment filter applied in the top right dropdown (we don’t support rearranging while filters are applied generally since you need to rearrange within the full list).

Anonymous: Ah OK. I unchecked all environments for both rules and the “Move Up”/“Move Down” appeared.

Anonymous: One odd thing, if you select all environments, the “Move Up”/“Move Down” still doesn’t show up. You might want to account for that case too. Our instinct was to select all environments rather than selecting none.

Anonymous: Also, you may want to update the screenshot in docs, as the interface is slightly different now.
